The most important thing to remember is that a Champion is only as strong as the opponents that he faces. Shinsuke Nakamura's reign was largely forgotten when he was feuding against Ali, but now with Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan inserted in the mix, it is relevant once again. In the very same manner, AJ Styles also needs strong opponents to remain a relevant Champion, in my opinion.
Kevin Owens is perfect as the protagonist with Styles as the heel Champion. He is a great worker, he can tell fantastic stories both in the ring and on the microphone, and he also has great history with Styles. The two men can work a thousand matches across the world and each one of them will be an instant classic, for sure.
Moreover, both men can also engage in a promo battle that is real and very personal indeed.
