WWE Raw: 5 things Vince McMahon could be planning for Brock Lesnar next week

What will The Beast do on Raw, next week?
What will The Beast do on Raw, next week?

WrestleMania is less than two weeks away, but the visual extravaganza is looking a little colorless. Two of the biggest WWE Superstars – Batista and Brock Lesnar – were absent in this week’s Raw. Although WWE had already announced Lesnar’s return for next week, Batista’s status is still unknown.

Since the Royal Rumble match, WWE has decreased focus on the rivalry between The Architect and The Beast. Both are one of the biggest names in the wrestling industry, but still, the crowd isn't charged up for their match. But, as per WWE, one week is enough to excite the fans about this upcoming bout.

Next week’s Raw is also going to be the go-home show for WrestleMania, which alone makes us believe that something significant is going to happen.

This week, Paul Heyman and Rollins got into a war of words which didn’t serve any sort of build-up to the rivalry. Since there is only a single episode of Raw remaining before WrestleMania, the creative team has to do all the build-up work in just one day. In this article, we are going to look at five big things Vince McMahon may have planned for The Beast next week.

#5 Paul Heyman lectures Seth Rollins more

You are probably tired of hearing Paul Heyman again and again. Yes, I agree that he is a consummate talker and a manager, but by no means should this rivalry should be limited to just mouthing.

Rollins is the 2019 Royal Rumble match winner, and he and Lesnar are going to slug it out for the Universal Championship. However, due to the women’s main event match at WrestleMania, fans are not talking much about this feud.

Well, we should also credit that fact to Brock Lesnar for rarely showing up on Raw, but he's not the only one at fault. WWE also needs to pay attention to other things and act accordingly.

A Paul Heyman promo is worth listening, but even the professional talker cannot carry this rivalry alone. WWE have one last chance to promote this rivalry, and I believe that things need to get on a physical level. Unfortunately, Heyman might just end up lecturing Rollins like this week.

#4 The Beast decimates Seth Rollins

It is the most likely thing that could happen if WWE decides to do more than just a Paul Heyman promo. Seth Rollins is expected to win the Universal Championship at WrestleMania but as an underdog. Lesnar has already defeated some of the top horses in this industry, and it doesn’t seem like he is going to lose quickly.

The Beast, as a top guy, could destroy The Kingslayer next week. It will make him look unbeatable which is extremely important if Rollins is going to win at WrestleMania. Because if the Architect does the impossible at the Shows of Shows, then it will generate natural face reaction from fans for him.

So you can expect Rollins to take down the beating for one last time before WrestleMania. However, is it the only thing WWE can do right now? The creative team has already done this so many times that it doesn't excite us anymore.

First, it was Roman Reigns then Braun Strowman and now Seth Rollins. In truth, they have an opportunity to do something unpredictable, which I will discuss in the next slide…

#3 Lesnar becomes the underdog for a night

Brock Lesnar has always been a frontrunner in WWE. It doesn’t matter if he is against John Cena, Triple H, Roman Reigns or Braun Strowman… The Beast always gets the upper hand.

However, as we are in the turbulent Road To WrestleMania, wouldn’t it be shocking if Lesnar takes the beating for one night?

I know it has the slightest chance of happening but hey, never say never. Next week we will witness the final episode of Raw before ‘Mania, and I think that Rollins should even things up by clashing with the Mayor of Suplex City. Even though Lesnar is a hard nut to crack, Rollins has to prove that he possesses enough powers to slay The Beast.

But again, is Vince ready to let The Architect sabotage his biggest draw ever? I don’t know the answer but by analyzing many other things, I believe that Lesnar won’t take the beating for long.

#2 Shield brothers help Rollins

Since it’s confirmed that Dean Ambrose will be leaving WWE after WrestleMania, Vince can’t do anything. Ambrose is one of the most talented Superstars in this company, but due to multiple reasons, he will bid farewell to the WWE Universe soon. The Lunatic Fringe recently broke The Shield but because of Reigns, this stable reunited again at Fastlane.

In the previous slide, I discussed how Lesnar could become the underdog for a day. And I also mentioned that Rollins couldn’t handle him for long.

However, The Kingslayer doesn’t have to worry about that as long as he has his Shield brothers. I know that next week Rollins should beat Lesnar solo, but it would then take the ‘underdog’ title away from him. A finer way to execute this idea is that, at first, Rollins will travel to the Suplex City and when things get out of hand, Reigns and Ambrose will come to save their brother.

I know that it won't help Rollins a bit as his little victory over Lesnar won’t count as his own and it could also tarnish if babyface image. But, you have to admit that Lesnar is a big cheese to WWE and Vince won’t let someone defeat him easily. Even Roman Reigns tried multiple times to defeat Lesnar and when he did, it was because of a distraction.

#1 A possible confrontation with Drew McIntyre?

If Brock Lesnar is going to leave WWE after WrestleMania, then someone would have to take his place. Right now, there’s no one better than Drew McIntyre who is capable of becoming the next big thing on Raw.

Vince McMahon is also impressed by his physique, and it is why he is going all out on pushing him as a merciless heel. Currently, The Chosen One is feuding with Roman Reigns and, surprisingly, is dominating him.

This week, Dean Ambrose also challenged McIntyre for a match, but The Scottish Psychopath won the bout. To me, it seems like WWE is creating connections among these Superstars.

Rollins is feuding with Lesnar while McIntyre is feuding with Roman Reigns (and Dean Ambrose). And if The Shield is going to reunite against Lesnar, then there’s a chance that McIntyre will arrive as a backup to Lesnar. After all, The Beast, too, helped him in defeating Rollins last week. But, does this mean that he is going to clash with The Beast Incarnate in the future?

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
