#4 The fans don’t realize who runs the shows
The opening segment of Raw was quite obviously something that the fans weren’t really expecting. Fans expected Vince McMahon to either name a new General Manager of Raw, or just talk about how things haven’t been going right. Instead, the family in power spoke about taking back the control of Raw and SmackDown.
As Baron Corbin made his way to the ring to cut his promo, fans booed him and seemed to favor the McMahon family and Triple H, the same people who were heels for a long time. This made it obvious that the fans can be tricked into thinking that Raw was actually being run by someone else before.
Even when Baron Corbin was the GM, or Kurt Angle and many more before him, the power was still with the McMahon family. Cheering them for putting Corbin through hell made little sense as he was just doing what he was being told. Corbin never really had any authority.
Fans shouldn’t expect too much to change on Raw and SmackDown since both shows are still being run by the same people.
Giving Angle a chance to defeat Corbin in order to ensure he doesn’t become the GM defied all logic as Angle was initially sent on a vacation by Stephanie McMahon, who had made Corbin the Acting General Manager.
