WWE RAW (August 19, 2019): 5 Points to note

This week's episode of Raw was very noteworthy
This week's episode of Raw was very noteworthy

WWE has wrapped up their latest episode of Monday Night Raw and the show was very noteworthy, to say the least. WWE put on another solid show as we witnessed several surprises and a few interesting matches. The show kicked off with the franchise player Roman Reigns taking on Dolph Ziggler in a singles match.

Reigns is currently involved in a storyline where he was nearly eliminated for good, so his match with Ziggler wasn't necessary, as it did nothing to forward the storyline. These two put on a good match no doubt, but we could've seen Ziggler face any other competitor instead of Reigns.

The Man Becky Lynch cut a fire promo and The Legit Boss Sasha Banks continued her merciless assault on Natalya. The Fiend made an unexpected appearance and utilized the Mandible Claw on Jerry "The King" Lawler. The Viper Randy Orton, along with The Revival, dismantled The New Day and left Xavier Woods in ruins. In the main event of the night, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman defeated The OC to become the new Raw Tag Team Champions.

Plenty of things went down on the red brand and right here, right now, we will look at the five points worth noting for this week's episode of Raw.

#5 Sasha Banks' return came at the perfect time

After becoming a dual Women's Champion at WrestleMania 35 earlier this year, Becky Lynch's momentum started deteriorating as she didn't have enough credible contenders for her titles. After she lost her SmackDown Women's Championship to Charlotte Flair at Money in the Bank, The Man had a lengthy feud with a green Lacey Evans, who wasn't seen as a serious threat to Becky's title reign.

Then came SummerSlam, where Lynch defended her title against Natalya. Even though Nattie is a veteran and a former Women's Champion, she wasn't perceived as a threat either.

Then, on the fallout episode of Raw, The Boss Sasha Banks made her presence known. She returned as a babyface but shockingly turned heel after attacking an emotional Natayla and removing her wig to reveal her new glossy blue hair. Sasha is being booked better since her return and she is the only Superstar on the women's roster who's credible enough to challenge Lynch for her title.

If Sasha hadn't taken a break from WWE after 'Mania, Becky would've still not been able to have a worthy opponent and that would've affected her momentum. After all, she is the co-cover star of the WWE 2K20 video game.

#4 Dominick could step in the ring soon as a WWE Superstar

The Biggest Little Man in WWE Rey Mysterio has been on a losing streak so far, and on this week's Raw, he was about to remove his mask and possibly retire from in-ring competition. Mysterio has accomplished so much in WWE. He has won the Royal Rumble match, the World Heavyweight Championship, and the WWE Championship. His son Dominick was by his side during his feud with Samoa Joe for the United States Championship.

Dominick showed up last night and stopped his dad from unmasking himself and he gave his father some words of wisdom. There is no doubt that WWE is interested in signing Dominick as a competitor and if they do, he could possibly receive a push and enjoy a successful career like his father. We don't know whether that will happen soon or later, but after what we saw on Raw this week, Dominick will most likely be involved in whatever WWE is planning for Mysterio.

#3 Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins could feud for the Universal Championship

Braun Strowman has been eyeing Seth Rollins' Universal Championship for a while and there is no doubt that the Monster Among Men wants to become the next Universal Champion. Strowman came to Rollins' aid on Raw last week after the latter was being attacked by The OC. The Beastslayer returned the favor this week and they formed a team to challenge The OC for the Raw Tag Team Championships. Even though the two were scheduled to compete for the tag titles, Strowman's mind was on Seth Rollins' Universal Championship.

It wouldn't be surprising if The Monster Among Men ends up challenging Rollins for the Big Red Belt at Clash of Champions next month. Sure, they are currently the Raw Tag Team Champions, but we have seen something similar to this happen several times in the past. The Miz and Shane McMahon won the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, and they ended up feuding for a while after they lost it. Last year, Seth and Dean Ambrose won the Raw Tag Team Championships, but they ended up feuding immediately after that, so anything can happen.

#2 The Revival will even the odds in Randy Orton's feud with Kofi Kingston

Randy Orton and The Revival. This stable has the potential to be something big if booked correctly. Kofi Kingston is currently feuding with Randy Orton, and with the rest of the New Day members Xavier Woods and Big E in his corner, Kingston had all the advantage. But now, with The Revival in The Viper's corner, this evens the odds against Orton and with a little help from Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, Randy Orton could possibly become the next WWE Champion at Clash of Champions.

We could see something similar as we saw with The Legacy, or we could see something even better. FTRKO, as they refer to themselves on Twitter, sadistically dismantled The New Day on Raw and we could see them do the same to other Superstars. They look like a bad-ass stable and we could be looking at the next WWE Champion in Randy Orton.

#1 The OC lost all their credibility in one night

When The Club reunited and became The OC, we thought we would finally see this stable flourish and become something big. AJ Styles went on to win the United States Championship and Gallows and Anderson won the Raw Tag Team Championships. Things turned out to be better than we thought they would. WWE had one more chance to put this stable on top but they failed once again. On this week's Raw, The OC lost their tag titles to the thrown-together tag team of Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins.

All three OC members were run over like they were nothing during the match and it all came crashing down when they lost their titles. Why did WWE do this? In one night, the stable lost everything that they worked to achieve. AJ Styles is still the United States Champion, but their loss was still effective. Next week, The OC must receive their rematch and reclaim their titles. After that, Rollins can begin his feud with Strowman.
