WWE RAW: Best match of the night (24th June)

Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan

RAW this week surely had its good, great and awesome moments. Starting with a teaser to the night’s main event, WWE made sure RAW did not disappoint in any possible way. Even the divas section looked decent as WWE is now trying to bring about some much needed life to the division. The best moments of RAW happen mainly during the action inside the ring, and this week’s RAW was no different. While there were a lot of effective promos delivered, two matches seemed to knock the air out of viewers as they were stunning display of wrestling skills and technique.

One of the matches involved Jericho and Del Rio and the other Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. Both these matches were classy and deserved the title of the best match of the night. However the former fell slightly short of this mark thanks to some brilliance from Bryan and Orton in the main event.

Giving a great start, Orton and Bryan faced off in the opening match of the show. The two got disqualified after their brawl outside the ring, leaving fans with a bitter ending to a match that seemed to move in the best direction. As most of us were complaining about this, WWE gave us a reprieve when they rescheduled the match for the main event.

Meanwhile, as we were waiting for this match to start again, WWE gave us the three stipulations to choose from and fans used the WWE app to choose the stipulation to be a street fight which was quite fitting to say the least. It was during this wait that WWE gave us the ‘almost’ best match of the night between Jericho and Del Rio who were at their best inside the ring.

As we reached the main event, expectations were soaring high as Bryan and Orton made their way into the ring. The Street Fight stipulation meant that both these wrestlers had the liberty to go all out against each other, and they made full use of this opportunity as chairs, tables and kendo sticks played their part in the match.

Orton was the first to start off the proceedings with a huge shot with a chair as Bryan was trying to dive through the ropes. Later on, Orton even made great use of the chair and kendo stick. Bryan managed to put Orton through a table outside the ring, changing the complexion of the game.

Both these wrestlers didn’t give in easily as the offence only seemed to get nastier and more breathtaking. Orton landed a huge samoan drop on Bryan on the table which was surely the end of the match, but Bryan countered and locked in the YES lock. Orton managed to escape but was into the lock again and this time with the Kendo stick. With Orton not finding another alternative, the Viper finally tapped giving the goat a much decisive victory.

Though one cannot say the feud between Orton and Bryan has ended, one thing that is sure is that Daniel Bryan isn’t the weak-link any more.
