Another episode of RAW done and dusted, and we have just one more week standing between us and SummerSlam. RAW was taped this week due to the roster’s schedule and people who saw it live were kind enough to post spoilers as if releasing SmackDown’s results weren’t enough. Anyway, RAW had a lot of action this week as it did good justice to most storylines building up for SummerSlam. Though we didn’t have great matches like last week, one or two matches managed to catch the eye. Sadly this week, Daniel Bryan misses out on the best match of the night accolade as he gave us a not so Bryan-like performance.
The winner surprisingly is the bout between John Cena and Ryback in a Tables match. The match, if you remember, was announced on RAW last week when John Cena managed to save his SummerSlam opponent from the hands of the monster Ryback and challenge him to a fight. There isn’t a lot to guess as far as the winner of the match is concerned, but both these wrestlers managed to put on a decent match.
Cena and Ryback enter the ring as we find a lot of tables placed around the ring. The match begins and Ryback hits a kick to the gut and Cena powers back with a few punches. Back from commercials, Cena gets a belly to belly suplex from Ryback and then is sent into the steel steps. Cena then runs Ryback into the apron and the barricade. Cena then places a table between the ring and the steps only to get suplexed by Ryback to the floor.

They head inside the ring as Cena manages to lock the STF. Ryback crawls under the ring and breaks the hold, Cena grabs a table and flings it at Ryback outside the ring, but he manages to move away. Ryback then spears Cena outside the ring and hits him with the steel steps and then places Cena on top of a table set up between the ring and the steps. As Ryback goes for the match, Cena manages to roll out and both wrestlers have a stand off with the table in between. Both these wrestlers then grab steel steps and throw it at each other as they collide in mid-air.
Cena and Ryback then get into the ring and exchange blows, Cena gets the better of the trade and then puts Ryback on the steel steps inside the ring. Cena brings a table into the ring, Ryback counters and places the table in the corner. He lays Cena down with a meathook, after which Cena counters Ryback with an AA for the finish.
Daniel Bryan then comes to the ring and flashes the WWE Title which Cena asks back; DB hesitates for a while and Cena grabs it from Bryan. Bryan yells YES at Cena’s face and the crowd joins in with the chants.
Not one of the best matches in RAW this year, but undoubtedly the best of the night. Ryback doesn’t look a credible deal anymore as everyone was aware that he was going to be on the losing side.
