Last week on WWE RAW, Drew McIntyre came out to celebrate the fact that he retained his title in a match against Randy Orton at SummerSlam. He also offered a rematch to The Viper, but the latter took offense. He then went on to attack Drew McIntyre.

Later that night, Randy Orton was addressing the WWE Universe when Keith Lee made his debut on WWE RAW. A match was booked between Lee and Orton, but it was interrupted by Drew McIntyre, who wanted to avenge the beatdown he took earlier in the night.

An angry Orton then went to lay a vicious attack on McIntyre, forcing the WWE Champion to leave the arena in an ambulance. Keith Lee was not thrilled about McIntyre interrupting his debut match on WWE RAW but understood his ‘friend’s position'. Lee sought Payback from Orton and picked a huge win over The Viper at Payback last night.

WWE earlier reported that Drew McIntyre had sustained serious injury. However, some backstage reports suggested that it’s a storyline injury planned to keep McIntyre out of Payback.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see if McIntyre will come back tonight. Even if the WWE Champion returns on the red brand, he is not expected to compete in a match. Most importantly, what will Keith Lee’s role be in this feud going forward.
