WWE RAW: Power Rankings – August 26, 2013

Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio’s actions have cost him for the second week in a row

Sportskeeda presents the ‘Power Rankings’ from this week’s WWE RAW episode. We aim at ranking superstars based on their weekly performance every Monday night. So, let us have a look at the performances of the superstars this week.

10) Seth Rollins

In the number ten spot, we have Shield member Seth Rollins. Rollins was the first to face Bryan in the gauntlet match on RAW. Despite having other members of The Shield around ringside to aid his cause, Rollins failed to pick up a victory over the talented Daniel Bryan. He was however successful in ambushing Bryan after the match.

9) Titus O’Niel

Third consecutive win for the PTP stable this week on RAW. After Darren Young picked up a shock upset win recently, Titus opened his account with an impressive win over Jack Swagger. It is now time for the ‘Real Americans’ to start their jobbing duties.

8) Cody Rhodes

In the 8th spot, we have Cody Rhodes. On a high ever since his win over Sandow, Rhodes picked up two wins on RAW, first against Fandango and the other one against Fandango and Sandow in a tag team match with the Miz. Rhodes has been hitting a purple patch as of late and is rewarded with a spot in our power rankings.

7) Alberto Del Rio

Punishing Ricardo Rodriguez seems like a bad idea as the latter cost Del Rio yet another match on RAW. With his timely distraction, Rob Van Dam pinned Del Rio in a very impressive match to say the least. Del Rio has raised his standard ever since becoming world champion. But he has to get his game plan right and in place to pick up crucial wins.

6) Curtis Axel

Axel can be mighty proud with the effort he put up against CM Punk on RAW. He tried all he could to keep the former champion from getting his hands on Paul Heyman. However, some things are inevitable as Punk delivered the GTS for the win. Axel got his revenge with some hard chair shots on Punk after the match. This definitely seems to be one feud to look out for.

5) Christian

‘One more match’ chant originator Christian takes the 5th place. Ever since losing to Del Rio, Christian has failed to find his footing in the WWE. This week he faced old nemesis Randy Orton in an impressive match on RAW. Both superstars gave it their all with some impressive offence. However, Orton edged past Christian with a trademark RKO.

4) Rob Van Dam

Week in week out, RVD continues to impress the WWE universe. He showed to the world once again that he still has plenty left in the tank with an impressive win over Alberto Del Rio. RVD is scheduled to face Del Rio for the World Title at Night of Champions and he is already doing plenty of ground work to inch closer to his first World title reign.

3) Randy Orton

A heel turn was inevitable for Randy Orton and that is what he got. Ever since becoming champion, Randy has found a lot of admirers in the WWE including C.O.O Triple H. He is back to his ‘bad’ self as he notched up a good win over Christian. In what was perhaps the most impressive match of the night, Randy picked up top honours with an RKO to Christian and also ended the show with another RKO on Daniel Bryan.

2) CM Punk

The second city saint climbs up the rankings with an impressive win over Curtis Axel. With Cena gone, Punk is enjoying all the attention he gets. With only retribution in mind, Punk set out to destroy Axel and Heyman. As he picked up the win after hitting the GTS, he was ambushed by Axel and Heyman who hit him multiple times with the chair after the match. All in all, despite getting injured, Punk will get back stronger!

1) Daniel Bryan

Bad luck Brian has had a torrid time in recent weeks. With the WWE management clearly not on his side, Bryan has been overcoming the odds week after week. This week he was placed in a gauntlet match against The Shield. Despite managing to beat Rollins and almost achieving the same with Ambrose, he was taken down by other members of The Shield after they interfered causing a D.Q. For his impressive performance and yet another amazing promo, Daniel Bryan bags top honours this week with the numero uno spot.
