WWE RAW Preview: February 18th 2019

A new era?
A new era?

What an Elimination Chamber PPV it was! We saw the crowning of three new champions, including the inaugural WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. We'll recap what happened on RAW, but to get to Elimination Chamber on the RAW side of things, what happened was this:

The women's tag titles are on the red brand, we saw a new Intercontinental Champion, a whole new twist in the RAW Women's title picture and Braun Strowman fall to only the third WWE superstar in his career.

As for RAW last week, the biggest incident was The Revival finally capturing the RAW Tag Team Championship. Seth Rollins had a brief confrontation with Paul Heyman ahead of his WrestleMania clash against Brock Lesnar, while Dean Ambrose seemingly wished The Kingslayer good luck for his match.

Dean Ambrose, meanwhile, got his win back over the newly-debuting EC3. While Seth Rollins may not be in any significant segment on RAW, this is undoubtedly going to be an interesting episode, as we see the fallout of Elimination Chamber and the build to Fastlane.

#5 Finn Balor begins his reign as champion

Finn Balor did it. He defeated Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush in a 2-on-1 handicap match to become the Intercontinental Champion. Of course, he ended up pinning the "weak link" Lio Rush to capture the title.

There was a bit of dissension teased between Lashley and Rush pre-match, and after costing Lashley the title, The Almighty one ended up slamming his hype man against the canvas.

It seems like that relationship is over. As for Balor, what lies in store for him? Surely Bobby Lashley won't just let him walk away with the championship. Perhaps Lashley will have to earn his way into a rematch, and that's what we might end up seeing at Fastlane.

#4 A reunion takes place

Although Bobby Lashley was upset about losing his title, he wasn't done for the night. When Baron Corbin took on Braun Strowman in a No Disqualification match, Strowman's former ally Drew McIntyre came out to help Corbin.

Lashley then followed suit and it turned out to be a 3-on-1 assault. Naturally, nothing could be done about it because it wasn't against the rules of the match. The trio officially seemed to reunite, taking out Strowman in a very Shield-like manner.

They would send him through two tables, allowing Corbin to pin Strowman. In the process, he became only the third man in WWE to ever pin Strowman, with the other two being Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, of course.

Now that the band is back together, will they begin to terrorize Monday Night RAW? Corbin may not have authoritative power, but that won't stop him from making a statement.

#3 A new title reign begins

It almost seems like the Women's tag team titles were made for Sasha Banks and Bayley. After all, Bayley did declare that she wanted to become tag team champions, even before the championship was officially announced!

However, it was ideal that they won, because they were the most popular team, the best team and they also have the most chemistry together. Now that the moment of celebration is done, it's time for the newly crowned first-ever women's tag team champions to focus on what's next.

The rumour going around is that they might face Lita and Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 35. Could the two legends return on RAW tonight to set up the blockbuster match?

It would be one that everyone would want to see, and it would also be a dream match for The Boss 'N' Hug Connection. But before WrestleMania comes Fastlane and they should focus on that.

#2 The era of The Revival begins

At long last, The Revival lift the Raw Tag Team Titles!

At long last, The Revival are RAW Tag Team Champions. As you probably know, they haven't really had the best run on RAW. When you look at the quality of their matches at NXT and what they've done at NXT, it comes as a surprise that they took this long.

However, more often than not, they were consistently screwed out of title matches and title victories. With all those rumours about them leaving, they certainly dispelled it with the title win.

For some reason, WWE decided not to make the match for Elimination Chamber, but then again, it's been a while since the RAW Tag Team Championships have been defended on PPV. You probably have to go back to Hell In A Cell last year for that.

Either way, The Revival are finally tag team champions, and they're set to rule the division like they said they would. With a renewed sense of confidence, will any team be able to stop The Top Guys?

#1 What will be the aftermath of Becky Lynch's vicious attack?

WWE Photo

Becky Lynch is in deep water now. If you're not aware, we'll catch you up to speed - Ronda Rousey faced Ruby Riott for the RAW Women's Championship, with Charlotte Flair seated ringside.

It took Rousey all but a 100 seconds to submit Riott, and as she was having her WrestleMania staredown with Charlotte Flair, the suspended Becky Lynch came out in crutches and went right after Charlotte Flair, beating her down relentlessly.

Ronda Rousey stared on, smiling. Becky indicated that Ronda could take her turn to hit Charlotte as well, but as Rousey was ready to strike, she got smacked in the back with the crutch by Becky Lynch. Lynch was then escorted out of the building. We're going to see the fallout of the happenings. What will happen to Becky Lynch?

One would think that she would get suspended for longer, but crazier things have happened. Maybe Ronda Rousey and Charlotte will urge the McMahon family to place Becky Lynch in the match!
