The eyes of the world and professional wrestling industry now focus on the Honda Center in Anaheim, California as this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW brings us the fall-out of SummerSlam PPV.
Last night, championships changed hands, heroes fell and victors stood tall, as SummerSlam turned out to be the best PPV of this year so far.
Going into this week’s RAW, the fans won’t discuss if Bryan can beat Cena anymore, as Daniel Bryan proved to the world that he is indeed a worthy opponent. This past Sunday, Bryan defeated John Cena to win the WWE championship, while Brock Lesnar beat the Second City Saint CM Punk in the “Best vs Beast” match. So what can we expect from this week’s RAW? Let’s take look.
Is this the end for Christian?
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Going into the SummerSlam PPV, it was built as Christian’s final chance to win the World Heavyweight championship. Although Christian can work a match better than 90% of the guys in the locker room, he’s on the wrong side of the age barrier, and going by how the management looked at him till now, there is very little hope of him getting another run as the World Heavyweight champion.
Christian faced Del Rio this past Sunday at SummerSlam and put on an amazing match with the Mexican warrior. With Del Rio retaining the championship, where will Christian go from here? Will he get another opportunity to win the World championship at the next PPV? We will get our answers tonight, as the future of Christian will be decided on RAW.
Natalya finally gets her recognition
After years of toiling in the depleting women’s division, Natalya finally has picked up her pace, by first defeating the Divas champion last week, and at SummerSlam, defeating Brie Bella. Natalya was also involved in the SummerSlam Axxess match, teaming up with Maria and picked up the victory against Brie and Eva Marie.
Will Natalya be named as the new number one contender for the Divas title? We’ll have to wait and find out tonight.
Where does Punk go from here?
At SummerSlam, Punk and Lesnar went through hell, and in the end, Punk’s obsession with hurting Paul Heyman cost him dearly, as Lesnar F-5’d Punk on a steel chair to pick up the victory. Punk’s one ambition since the Money in the Bank PPV has been getting his hands on Heyman for costing him a shot at the WWE championship, and now, he cannot go back to challenge for the WWE title unless he finishes the job.
So where will Punk go from here? Will he take some time off and re-evaluate things? Or will Punk once again set his sights on Paul Heyman? There are a lot of questions which will be answered on tonight’s episode.
The Wyatt Family chooses its next victim
Bray Wyatt and his followers finally put an end to Kane at SummerSlam. The eerie family then carried Kane to the back, and no one knows what has happened to the ‘Big Red Monster’ since. With Kane out of the picture, who will the Wyatt Family target next? No one can be safe from the cult, and one has to have eyes on the back of their head to escape from Bray Wyatt and his followers.
Daniel Bryan’s new journey
Daniel Bryan’s 15-year journey culminated this past Sunday with him winning the WWE title, after a long, amazing match against John Cena.
Daniel Bryan has been the hottest superstar for months, and all of the hard work and dedication he put in finally paid off when he pinned Cena in the middle of the ring to win his first WWE title, but the celebrations didn’t last long, as Orton came out with the briefcase, and before he could come into the ring, Triple H shocked the world by delivering a pedigree to the new WWE champion.
As a stunned crowd looked on, Orton handed the briefcase to Triple H, and cashed in his contract to pin the fallen champion, to become the new WWE champion. The show faded with Triple H raising Orton’s hand as the victor.
Bryan’s story is similar to Steve Austin’s back during the Attitude Era, and Austin’s stake sky rocketed after being cheated out of the WWE title, with him taking his anger out on the WWE management. One has to believe that Daniel Bryan’s new journey will be very similar to that of Austin’s nearly 15 years ago.
Will Daniel Bryan confront Triple H regarding his actions this past Sunday? What will happen when the chairman of the WWE, the COO of the company and the new WWE champion, Randy Orton join forces to eliminate a common enemy? Things get very interesting, and we will get a glimpse of Daniel Bryan’s future on this week’s ‘must-see’ episode of Monday Night RAW.
