Damian Priest's incredible 2021 on RAW ended last week with a defeat to Dolph Ziggler. The US title was defended, and Damian Priest lost due to disqualification. But it shouldn't take away all that he has achieved on RAW last year.
As a result of the disqualification, his feud with The Dirty Dawgs will likely continue. Since late October 2021, Priest has had a change in theme song and character. We've seen a darker side of him, one that isn't fully a babyface, but not a heel either.

The "unhinged" version of Priest is ultimately what led to the DQ loss, and it seems to be foreshadowing something bigger. Priest will be expected to defeat Ziggler and finish his feud with the former RAW Tag Team Champions.
But what lies ahead beyond that? A heel turn seems to be foreshadowed with his change in character, and that could be the new direction for Damian Priest on RAW in 2022. Will he be able to replicate the success of 2021?
