WWE RAW Results: Huge debut! Match continues despite injury; new champion crowned (1/13/25)

CM Punk kicked off WWE RAW, and he talked about the California wildfires for a bit before talking about John Cena, who was going to the Royal Rumble. Punk, too, announced his entry in the Rumble before Seth Rollins showed up.

Rollins had a black eye and stared Punk down in the ring, bringing up their last match. Seth added that he wanted to flush Punk's WrestleMania dreams down the toilet and so, he too would be joining the Royal Rumble.

Drew McIntyre was the next to show up, and Punk taunted him, saying that next time, he'll need more than fifteen staples to the head. Drew told him he was there not to talk to Punk but to Seth, saying that both Rollins and Punk were the same.

Punk said he was ready to throw hands, and Rollins took his jacket off before Drew headed to the ring. However, he turned back and decided to leave, saying that there was something bigger. McIntyre declared his entry to the Royal Rumble as well before RAW moved on.

WWE RAW Results: Chad Gable vs. Penta

We got the debut of Penta tonight on RAW and the luchador came out to a great reaction from the crowd. We got some back and forth from the two early on and Penta got a big superkick before taking an exploder suplex. Chad Gable got a German Suplex on the apron before Penta came back with a big dive.

Gable took a flipping piledriver before taking the roundhouse kick and a dragon screw. Penta was caught in the ankle lock but managed to get out before breaking Gable's arm with The Sacrifice and hitting the Penta Driver for the win.

Result: Penta def. Chad Gable

After the match, Penta got on the mic and said that he had been waiting for this moment as was everyone else. He said that this was a new era of WWE, the Penta era, and did the Cero Miedo taunt before RAW moved on.

Grade: B+

Backstage on RAW, Dominik Mysterio apologized to Liv Morgan, who said she wasn't mad. She handed the roses Dom gave her to Carlito before leaving. Finn Balor taunted Dom, saying that he had a lot to learn before talking to JD McDonagh about getting the Tag Titles back.

WWE RAW Results: Ludwig Kaiser vs. Sheamus

Sheamus got an early lariat but the Beats of the Bodhran were countered before Ludwig Kaiser sent him outside and into the announce desk.

Back in the ring, Sheamus hit big chops and the Beats of the Bodhran before getting a near fall off the Avalanche White Noise. Kaiser took a big knee and the Brogue kick before Sheamus picked up the win.

Result: Sheamus def. Ludwig Kaiser on RAW

Gunther was out next and said he was holding the ultimate prize, the World Heavyweight title. Jey Uso showed up and said he was moving on from The Bloodline drama and looking to win the world title.

Gunther said that he had beaten Uso twice before but still accepted the challenge for Saturday's Main Event. As Gunther walked out, Jey called him back and said he would earn his respect by beating him for the world title.

WWE RAW Results: Dakota Kai vs. Lyra Valkyria - Women's Intercontinental Championship match

Lyra Valkyria was in control early on and locked in a submission hold before Dakota Kai managed to break out but Lyra missed the Nightwing. Kai took some kicks and came back with some kicks of her own before hitting a modified rana and a boot in the corner.

Kai went for the GTK but missed it before Lyra took her down with a powerbomb for a near fall. Lyra got a leg drop for another near fall before Dakota managed to hit the Go To Kick but Valkyria fell out of the ring. Lyra came back with a slingblade the Nightwing before picking up the win!

Result: Lyra Valkyria def. Dakota Kai to become the new Women's Intercontinental Champion

WWE RAW Results: The Miz vs. Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn got a big elbow early on and followed up with a diving axe handle. The Miz turned it around and hit the It kicks before dodging the Blue Thunder Bomb. Miz got some elbows in the corner but took a sudden Helluva Kick and the Blue Thunder Bomb before going down for the three-count.

Result: Sami Zayn def. The Miz on RAW

Grade: B-

Logan Paul was in promo and said that he was looking to be the top guy in WWE.

Rhea Ripley was out next and talked about taking back the Women's World Championship before she was interrupted by Nia Jax. Jax said that she would enter the Royal Rumble and then beat Rhea for the title.

Nia taunted both Rhea and Bayley, who was in the front row. Bayley jumped the barricades and got in the ring before Nia attacked her for calling her an idiot. Nia showed Rhea down as well before Bayley and Ripley came back with knees and kicks, sending Jax out of the ring.

Rey Mysterio was in an interview and said that Penta's true home was in WWE and everyone praised him as a bona fide superstar. He also said that Big E deserves respect and was the heart and soul of The New Day.

WWE RAW Results: Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor - Street fight

Damian Priest came out with a kendo stick and Finn Balor ambushed him from behind with a kendo stick of his own as the match started. Priest turned it around and unloaded with the kendo stick before hitting a front face slam. The two headed outside and Priest was sent into the announce desk before Damian slammed Balor onto it off a counter.

Damian brought a table out and the match headed into the crowd before they ended up on the balcony. Priest hit a massive Broken Arrow from up high through two tables below! Medics came in to check on the stars and were carrying Balor away in a stretcher before Damian attacked the other Judgment Day members and then rolled Finn back into the ring.

Balor was about to take the chokeslam but Carlito came in with a backstabber and JD hit a moonsault to take Damian out. JD and Carlito set Balor up for the Coup de Grace and he hit it but Priest kicked out. Carlito and JD took out a table before the War Raiders showed up and attacked them.

JD took the double finisher in the ring before the Raiders beat Carlito back to the entrance ramp. Balor came back with a slingblade and hit Priest with a chair before wrapping it around his neck. Damian still managed to get the South of Heaven before Balor dodged the Razor's Edge. Balor hit a Coup de Grace through a table at ringside!

Priest sent Balor through the barricades before hitting the Razor's Edge through a table at ringside. Back in the ring, Balor took another chokeslam before going down for the three-count.

Result: Damian Priest def. Finn Balor on RAW

Grade: A+
