Before the main event kicked off on RAW, we got two major announcements for next week as Rollins and Black will square-off and in a shocker we got to know that Rey Mysterio will be retiring and there will be a ceremony for it. It was later revealed in an update by WWE that the ceremony will be conducted by Rollins himself.
Street Profits vs MVP and Bobby Lashley
MVP and Bobby Lashley dominated the opening stages of the match with Lashley running through Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. MVP and Lashley traded tags as they isolated Montez Ford in their corner and continued to deal out damage. Lashley continued with some clubbing blows as he taunted Ford before blindsiding Dawkins and knocking him off the apron on RAW.
Lashley followed it up with a sidewalk slam and tossed Ford out of the ring. MVP tagged back in and Ford caught him with a right hand before making the tag. Angelo Dawkins came in and unloaded on MVP and tossed him around the ring.
Ford hit MVP with the Frog Splash and went for the cover but Lashley broke it up. Lashley then locked in his Full Nelson lock and did not let go. Since he was not the legal man and refused to let go of the lock, the referee called off the match on RAW.
Match Result: DNF
Drew McIntyre's music hit after the match and he charged into the ring, hitting Lashley with the Glasgow Kiss. McIntyre continued to pound Lashley as the WWE PC trainees in the audience were called into the ring to control the situation. McIntyre and Lashley cleared the ring and continued hammering at each other before more trainees finally pulled them apart to close this week's RAW.
Episode Rating: A
The No.1 Contender's match exceeded expectations on RAW while it was a feel good moment to see Apollo Crews win his first title on the main roster.
