WWE Raw, September 5th - Reading between the lines of each segment

#6 Darren Young vs Jinder Mahal, Braun Strowman vs Sin Cara:

No Main Points this time around.

They really need to end this feud. Neither man is benefiting, and even though Young got a slightly better reaction from the WWE fans this week, it still doesn’t make this rivalry any more interesting. The involvement of Backlund is baffling, and I think they can still salvage Young and O’Neill if they move both men on to something better.

This did nothing to help either man. Another awful segment, with Braun Strowman not showing many improvements in the ring, and Sin Cara not being nearly as weak as he should have looked to portray Strowman as a monster. Another baffling bit of booking from the creative team.

#7 Sasha Banks’ Bad News:

Main Point: I was really expecting the worst here. The way that Banks was presented made it seem like her injuries were worse than first thought.

This was another confusing segment, with booking not helping anyone. Why was Bank’s promo made to seem like she was emotional about some ‘bad news’? It turned out, when Dana Brooke interrupted her, that Sasha was fine and would challenge Charlotte at Clash of Champions. This made no sense, as the main focus of the promo was on how far the women’s division had come and how far Banks had come as an individual.

I was convinced that Sasha was going to say that she was going to be out for longer than expected. But, no, she is perfectly fine and is taking Bayley’s rumoured spot in the Women’s title match at Clash of Champions? This promo was a confusing one, and Banks’ return to the title chase could have been presented much more effectively than this.
