WWE/ROH News: WWE chant breaks out at Ring of Honor show

No, it w
No, it wasn't a Yes chant either

What’s the story?

Ring of Honor staged their Manhattan Mayhem live event this past Saturday night in New York City. During the show, the ROH faithful broke out in the ever popular 'Rusev Day' chant.

In case you didn’t know...

Over the years throughout WWE events, we have heard chants for other promotions, past and present, most notably ECW, as well as various WCW type of chants and even TNA chants.

Ring of Honor has had its place here too, in fact to this very day. Although the 'Too Sweet' started with The Klique and NWO, the Bullet Club brought it to a modern-day audience and many WWE fans still chant it today during near falls in matches at all kinds of WWE shows, both live events and on TV.

The heart of the matter

During Ring of Honor's Manhattan Mayhem live event this past Saturday, the fans in attendance broke out in a 'Rusev Day' chant. Several fans tweeted it to the Bulgarian Brute to which he replied with, ''Interesting''. Below is a quick snippet of the chant.

What’s next?

The 'Rusev Day' chants continue to be WWE's most popular chant of the past couple of months, and that is really saying something when it is competing with 'YES' and Matt Hardy's 'Delete'.

Rusev is expected to be added to the WWE Fastlane card this Sunday.

Author’s take

I would love for WWE to do more with Rusev now that his 'Rusev Day' chant has made him so popular. At the same time, I also hope WWE won't use this as an opportunity to turn him into some kind of glorified comedy character. For now, I guess we will just have to wait and see but hopefully, the chant is over enough for WWE to do something useful with him at WrestleMania.
