The Royal Rumble this year saw Cena winning the rumble and Rock winning the WWE Title. Now, what can happen after that? Here, I try to predict the story lines that can occur after the rumble and how it would affect the superstar’s career.
Cesaro vs Miz
This is quite one of the most interesting rivalries that I have seen for a long time. But this is a sort of one-sided rivalry. Miz usually loses until he takes someone’s help. WWE can continue this feud so that Miz wins the U.S. Title.

Big Show vs Alberto Del Rio
It was an interesting match – a match full of twists and turns. But does WWE end any champion’s reign in just one PPV? Never! So ADR won, as predicted by many people. I know this rivalry would be extended till the Elimination Chamber. But it is doubtful whether this rivalry’s extension till WM29. I think WWE should end this feud as soon as possible and should choose a new contender for the WHC. A returning Chris Jericho or Brock Lesnar are the expected candidates.
Tag Teams
The tag team title match was almost a rerun of many matches we have seen in the past. Hence, no storyline could be made from this rivalry and in my view, WWE should move away from this feud and pick some other tag team talent to face Hell No! for the tag titles.
Brock Lesnar
The return of Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble was a big surprise. His actions last night were unpredictable. He attacked Paul Heyman, his associate for many years, and even WWE Chairman, Mr. McMahon. This could lead to a return of superstars to help Vince, or a rivalry. Actually, a Mr. McMahon vs Brock Lesnar could happen as well.
Finally… The Rock has won the WWE Championship. This was what we expected from the match. As CM Punk is not the champion anymore, he would definitely try to get back the WWE Title. But now John Cena, the winner of the Royal Rumble 2013, has entered the contest and it doesn’t make any sense to let Punk capture back the title. We are hearing rumors of Rock VS Cena at WM29. Cena can capture back the title if Punk wins the belt, but things could change if another Rock VS Cena occurs at WM29. All we can do now is to wait and watch.
The Royal Rumble has been bringing surprise superstars returning at the grand 30-man Royal Rumble match. This year brought wrestlers like Jericho, Goldust and the Godfather. But none could win the rumble. The winner was again the winner of the 2008 Royal Rumble, John Cena. He chose the WWE Championship as his path to WrestleMania 29. The odds are that it will be a Rock vs Cena WrestleMania rematch. But if any one of the 5 other men at Elimination Chamber wins the title (not Cena, if he participates), then Cena’s work might get easy or difficult to win the WWE Championship. In this case also, all we can do is wait till the Elimination Chamber.
