A miracle comeback?
A miracle comeback?

The only other name to make a surprise return in the Royal Rumble that has been making the rounds more than CM Punk, is WWE Hall of Famer, Edge.

Is this man the funniest man in wrestling?

So what started these rumors? Well, the 11-time WWE Heavyweight Champion and 2010 Royal Rumble winner sadly retired in 2011 due to his previous broken neck and various new injuries to it. Ever since, although Edge had made more than a dozen appearances for WWE, had not gotten physical. That is, until the WWE SummerSlam 2019 pre-show when he delivered his first Spear in over eight years to Elias.

Rumblings began that he was now medically cleared to wrestle again. This was followed by numerous reports of him attending physicals and was making more appearances backstage at WWE events. This all led to reports that he was set for a return to the Royal Rumble. Ever since Edge has denied the reports several times.

So, could we see Edge return in the Royal Rumble? I honestly have no idea. You have all of these really strong rumors, but then also the very serious reasons as to why he retired, to begin with. Could a miracle similar to Daniel Bryan happen once again? So many questions, and only one time for them to be answered, this Sunday at the Royal Rumble.

I don't know if we will here that iconic ''You Think You Know Me?'' with his epic Alter Bridge theme, but it would certainly be amazing if we did.
