CM Punk's 2014 exit from WWE was so controversial that most thought the two sides would never be on the same page ever again.

And while Punk still hasn't made an official appearance in a WWE ring since the 2014 Royal Rumble, he is back on good terms with the company. Of course, we all know Punk's deal to appear on WWE Backstage was done through the FOX Sports network and not WWE, but obviously the company would have had to have been ok with him being on it also, which they are.

Is this man the funniest man in wrestling?

Ever since Punk 'came back', the talk among those in the business and fans alike of him wrestling again in WWE hasn't stopped since.

And naturally, with some surprise entries usually entering the Rumble match, many are speculating that this will be the year when we finally see the return of CM Punk. Now personally, I can't see this happening. I do believe we will see him wrestle one more match for sure, but I can't see that being this Sunday, especially since he was only been on WWE Backstage for a few months.

Punk himself has actually been teasing a potential appearance, but I think that was all just for his Royal Rumble parody entrance on the most recent WWE Backstage edition. I know for certain, we will hear chants of 'CM Punk' throughout the Rumble match, but I don't think we will see the man himself, as cool as it would be.
