WWE Royal Rumble 2025 is scheduled to emanate live from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 1. Apart from the Men's and Women's Royal Rumble matches, several big clashes could happen at the upcoming premium live event.
The historic premium live event will feature many stars and legends. The company recently announced the first title bout for the PLE, with Cody Rhodes set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against his former friend on February 1. In this piece, we will discuss potential clashes at the Royal Rumble.
On that note, let's begin:
#4. Announced match
Cody Rhodes prevailed over Kevin Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event. However, The Prizefighter attacked The American Nightmare following the clash before escaping with the Winged Eagle Title.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, the company announced that Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship in a Ladder Match at the Royal Rumble. The bout will see both the Undisputed Title and the Winged Eagle Championship suspended above the ring.
Prediction: Cody Rhodes will not lose his title until WrestleMania 41. Fans should expect The American Nightmare to defeat Owens at the spectacle.
#3. Women's Royal Rumble match
The women's Rumble match will see thirty female stars fighting for a chance to script history. The winner of the bout will headline WrestleMania in a title match.
The encounter is expected to feature some of the company's marquee names, such as Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, and more. The Rumble could also see massive returns, including Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Flair is rumored to come back anytime soon. The Queen was last seen in December 2023, when she suffered multiple knee injuries. Lynch, on the other hand, has been on hiatus following her loss against Liv Morgan in May 2024.
This could be another entertaining and eventful edition of the Women's Rumble.
Prediction: Rhea Ripley could become the first female star to win the Royal Rumble twice. The Eradicator previously won the Rumble in 2023.
#2. Men's Royal Rumble match
The thirty-man Royal Rumble match is perhaps the main attraction of the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. The excitement amongst fans regarding the same is palpable.
While The Rock, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, and more are rumored to return for the Rumble, names like CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena are almost certain for the bout. Given the potential star cast, this could be one of the biggest Rumble matches in the company's history.
With the winner of the match guaranteed a title shot at 'Mania, fans should expect a sense of urgency amongst the stars. However, it won't be easy for anybody to outlast twenty-nine other names.
Prediction: John Cena is reportedly set to feature in a title match against Cody Rhodes in perhaps the last 'Mania of his career next year. Hence, he could be the last man standing in the Rumble.
The Cenation Leader could win the whole thing on February 1 before going on to dethrone Rhodes to win his seventeenth World Championship at The Show of Shows in Vegas.
#1. Roman Reigns could face Solo Sikoa for the Tribal Chief Championship
It was reported earlier that the company plans to introduce a new title called the Tribal Chief Championship in The Bloodline Saga. While a recent report has suggested otherwise, revealing that that is no longer the plan, nothing has been confirmed yet.
If the company does introduce the aforementioned title, it could crown a new champion at the Rumble. The creative team could have the Tribal Combat between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa end in a no-contest on RAW, leading to a potential rematch between the duo for the new title on February 1.
Prediction: If Roman Reigns does lock horns with Solo Sikoa in a potential match for the Tribal Chief Title, he may defeat The Street Champion to end this rivalry for good.
