What's the story?
John Cena has quite the history at WrestleMania, and last year he almost didn't have a match, but it appears that the 16-time world champion will definitely have an opponent in New Jersey this April.
In case you didn't know...
John Cena hasn't been active in WWE over the past year, as the former world champion has been focused on exploits outside of the ring, and his relationship with Nikki Bella has been the main focus of headline news in recent months.
Cena made his return to Monday Night Raw last week where he was approached by Drew McIntyre, but even though Cena and The Scottish Psychopath could have a fantastic match on The Grandest Stage of Them All, he isn't the man who is expected to be standing across the ring from Cena at WrestleMania.
The heart of the matter
John Cena announced his place in this year's Royal Rumble earlier this week, and it's thought that his storyline heading into the biggest event of the year will kick off on January 27.
According to The Wrestling Observer, John Cena is expected to face Lars Sullivan at WrestleMania, after weeks of The Freak teasing his debut on the main roster. It's likely that this could have been delayed to match a storyline with John Cena, which could then kick-start Sullivan's career in WWE, and allow the company paint him into the next monster.
What's next?
John Cena has a lot of obligations outside of WWE, which means that the build to this match would be limited, but it would still be a huge boost for Lars Sullivan who needs something to push him forward on the main roster right now.
