In today's roundup, we take a look at the original plans WWE had for The Fiend at Survivor Series and why WWE are planning to take legal action against All Elite Wrestling. The two companies might be locked in a lawsuit for some time if things get heated up.

But, before we head to that, let us take a look at the two big headline-makers of the day:

Backstage plans for CM Punk

WWE are already planning what to do with CM Punk despite him not actually working with them. The company knows his crowd-pull and want to use it to their advantage.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

According to PWInsider, WWE are looking to get CM Punk to appear as a guest on Stone Cold Steve Austin's 'The Broken Skull Sessions' podcast. The new podcast was launched on Sunday following the pay-per-view, with The Undertaker as the first guest.

PWInsider's report read: “The Steve Austin-Undertaker WWE Network broadcast is now streaming and is a great discussion between the two, well worth going out of your way to watch. There was a lot of talk over the weekend internally that WWE wanted CM Punk for a future Austin episode.”

Vince McMahon furious with Seth Rollins

It was a WWE show in Chicago and without a doubt, there were 'CM Punk' chants in the arena. The crowd was chanting Punk's name ahead of the Town Hall on Monday Night RAW and Seth Rollins responded by saying:

"I tried to get him (Punk) here, I'm sorry, he didn't want to show up. He wants to sit behind a desk in Los Angeles and talk about a change he's too afraid to make himself."

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio is now reporting that Vince McMahon was furious with the former WWE Universal Champion for his words. The chairman was reportedly 'visibly upset' and did not like the response one bit. Meltzer said:

"Unless Seth and Vince worked it out and Vince was working everyone backstage by acting furious when this is going on, Vince was really upset about Seth responding to this. Vince's rule is that you do not push the idea of a match that you aren't going to deliver."

CM Punk is contracted with FOX and not WWE and has already ruled out a return at the Royal Rumble.

WWE to take legal action against AEW

WWE vs AEW

WWE are reportedly set to take legal action against All Elite Wrestling for using 'Bash at the Beach' as their pay-per-view name. This was a WCW PPV from 1994 to 2000 before the company was acquired by WWE.

"Some within WWE weren't happy with AEW promoting a Bash at the Beach, and there's talk that they may attempt to take action to stop it," said Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

It also comes just days after Cody Rhodes tweeted that he could be going to court and needed to buy some suits.

Tony Khan in an interview with WrestlingInc said: “Cody (Rhodes) went on a trademark binge one night and he texted me, 'Conrad and I were up all night trademarking stuff.' One of the things that came out of it was Bash at the Beach. So, when he said that we thought of a way to use it… and the unique idea was to go to Miami in January.”

Original plans for The Fiend at Survivor Series

The Fiend
The Fiend

'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt defeated Daniel Bryan at Survivor Series and the match was a hard-fought one. The WWE Universe knew what the result of the match would be way ahead of time but were still glued as Bray Wyatt and Bryan are two of the best in-ring Superstars right now.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio is now reporting that it was originally not supposed to be Daniel Bryan in the match. He reports that the plan was for The Miz to be squashed by The Fiend at the pay-per-view but things changed.

Now, The Miz is set to take on The Fiend inside the Steel Cage at WWE Starrcade on Sunday. The match is expected to be a quickfire one with the WWE Universal Champion ending things early.

The plans for The Miz to face Wyatt might not have been cancelled but just postponed by WWE to accommodate Daniel Bryan on the pay-per-view.
