#2. Drew McIntyre could lose the WWE title to Randy Orton

Drew McIntyre is set to take on Dolph Ziggler on the upcoming episode of WWE RAW which would be a rematch from Extreme Rules. The match was originally announced to be a WWE title contest; however, WWE has now made a last-minute change, and the title will not be on the line for some mysterious reason.

Drew McIntyre will choose the stipulation of the match which he is widely expected to win before he kicks off his rumored feud against Randy Orton.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that rumors are doing the rounds about Drew McIntyre possibly dropping the title to Randy Orton at SummerSlam.

WWE may want to add another layer to the impending trilogy bout between Orton and Edge, which, at this point, is reportedly being planned for WrestleMania 37.

The idea is that the company may want Orton to go over McIntyre as they build up towards the third and final match in the feud between The Legend Killer and The Rated-R Superstar.

Meltzer noted that taking the title off McIntyre would be counter-productive. However, knowing WWE's booking pattern, there is a big possibility that McIntyre may leave SummerSlam without the WWE title around his waist.
