#1 Plans for Brock Lesnar's return to SmackDown

The Beast Incarnate is back and already gearing up to face WWE Champion Kofi Kingston on the first edition of SmackDown on FOX.

Brock Lesnar previously made his return to the blue brand after 3 years when he had made an appearance to attack Randy Orton. This time around, Lesnar came out to assault the current WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and challenged him to put the WWE title on the line in a match against him.

While this may seem like a last-minute decision by WWE to make the first episode of SmackDown on FOX more memorable, Jon Pollock has reported that this was the plan for a long time:

Brock Lesnar is going to challenge Kofi Kingston for the WWE title on 10/4 on the SmackDown premiere on Fox in Los Angeles. I was told that this had been in the works for a long time.

While the most obvious speculation would be that Lesnar will win the WWE Championship, WWE need to decide if having a part-time Champion to lead SmackDown in this new era would be a good idea.
