WWE Rumor Roundup: Former 3-time Champion to join Daniel Bryan's new faction?, Company completely against Iconic multi-time World Champion's return - 23rd March 2020
CM Punk is one of the most iconic WWE Champions of all time. The 5-time World Champion had left the company in 2014 and wasn't seen anywhere near WWE for the longest time before he joined WWE Backstage as an analyst last year.
Even though Punk has hinted a few times that he would be open to a return, there are reports suggesting that WWE is not at all interested in his return. Here is what Dave Meltzer of The Observer stated in this regard:
“I think it’s one show a month but as far as how long, I don’t know. I do know that WWE is pretty negative on the idea of Punk wrestling, more than I thought they would be but they are. I think the idea is between Bill Goldberg and Edge and Undertaker and people like that, they’ve got their fair share of guys like that. There’s a lot of bitterness. Apparently there’s more bitterness on the WWE side right now than on the Punk side. I would have thought it would be the other way around.” (H/T: PWmania)
