#2 Update on Seth Rollins' WWE status

WWE wrapped up the storyline between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio on the most recent episode of SmackDown. However, it seemed like a last-minute decision to end a long-running angle.

Rey Mysterio picked up the win, before Seth Rollins was announced in a match against Murphy for next week's SmackDown.

Dave Meltzer revealed on the Wrestling Observer Radio's latest edition that WWE had to end all of Seth Rollins angles, as the former WWE Champion is scheduled to go on a short hiatus.

"They were going to do the blow-off at some point soon because Seth is only going to be around for another week or two because he is taking time off.

"They had to clean this all up because Seth's taking time off, which they have known; I don't know how long they have known. I've known for maybe, a few days a week maybe. Not even a week. I knew mid-week that Seth was taking time off. Maybe Thursday now that I think about it. That probably just came up this week, and they figured Rey has got to get his win, I guess because Seth out for however long he is going to be out."

Meltzer also noted that Seth Rollins would take some time off after Survivor Series, and the Superstar might only be back in the new year.
