#1 Details of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon's upcoming Netflix documentary
As revealed during the recent third-quarter WWE earnings call, Netflix and WWE have agreed upon a 'groundbreaking' deal to make a documentary on Vince McMahon.
Bill Simmons has been announced as the Executive Director of the documentary, with Chris Smith will be the producer alongside WWE Studios.
During her recent appearance on the 'Token CEO' podcast, Stephanie McMahon revealed that the documentary would be a four-part series. While the release date or the documentary title weren't revealed, it would contain four episodes. It does sound like a fascinating project in the making.
Stephanie McMahon admitted that she was a little nervous as it's her father's docuseries. At the same time, WWE's Chief Brand Officer also expressed how excited she was to see her iconic father's life showcased in a big-budget Netflix documentary. Vince McMahon's story is the quintessential American dream coming to fruition, according to Stephanie McMahon.
"For the first time ever, there is a four-part documentary on the life of my father Vince McMahon, and it's going to be on Netflix. It's a really big deal. I'm totally nervous about it because I want to protect my dad, not that he wants to be protected. It's going to be incredible. There's no one like my father. He grew up in a trailer park in North Carolina and didn't meet his dad until he was 13 and had no running water until he was 10. To have someone who truly lived the American dream, who believed in himself and was willing to invest in himself. The things he had to do to even get into the business, let alone take over the business. He had this vision to make one global brand."
His story deserves to be told. There's a balance there because every successful person has character traits that are interesting. There's lots of fun along the way, and I can't wait to see what comes out." H/t Fightful
