WWE's backstage atmosphere after Eddie Guerrero's death
Eddie Guerrero's death stunned the WWE Universe and Superstars alike. His sudden death sent shockwaves throughout the world. The fact that it happened hours before a show made the experience even worse for the Superstars working that day.
In reference to that dark day in 2005, JBL told Sportskeeda's UnSKripted with Dr. Chris Featherstone:
Meet John Cena's dad HERE
"We were in Minnesota. I remember walking in and I saw Rey Mysterio crying over by where we had makeup, sometimes we had the makeup area when you walk in, and I knew something was wrong. I never dreamed it was Eddie, just happened. He was clean, he was sober, his heart just gave out on him for some reason."
The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about his experience with Eddie Guerrero and heaped praise on the WWE legend:
"Eddie was awesome. He was an awesome human being. I got the privilege of doing a part of his eulogy, which unfortunately was a privilege, I wish he was still around. He was a groomsman at my wedding also, Eddie was a good friend of mine and just the salt of the earth. Eddie was such a good dude."
Eddie Guerrero passed away in November 2005. He was found dead in his hotel room.
