#2. Vince McMahon changed his mind regarding many WrestleMania matches
It's tough to please Vince McMahon. There have been countless instances in the past where the boss has changed the script at the very last moment and he has followed the same pattern when it comes to the WrestleMania 36 card.
Dave Meltzer revealed various details about the WrestleMania 36 matches on the Wrestling Observer Radio.
WrestleMania cards are usually set in stone well in advance but it has been a different story altogether this year. The only match that has not been changed and that has been on the cards for almost a year now is Shayna Baszler vs. Becky Lynch.
Roman Reigns was originally slated to win the Royal Rumble and Drew McIntyre was earmarked for an Elimination Chamber win. The Big Dog was set to take on the Fiend while McIntyre was still not the confirmed choice to face Lesnar as WWE even considered Aleister Black at one point in time.
Meltzer also added that Goldberg was never supposed to be wrestling at WrestleMania, but Vince McMahon changed his mind and ended up booking the Spear vs. Spear showdown.
AJ Styles vs. The Undertaker was also decided on the week in which the news of it happening was made public. King Corbin vs. Elias was planned two weeks ago and it will be added to the final card soon.
Meltzer explained:
The only match that wasn't changed, because they did have Roman Reigns and Bray - which they changed, but the only other match, because of Brock Lesnar and Drew that was still in January, that was still being decided between Drew McIntyre and Aleister Black, and the Royal Rumble was going to go to Roman Reigns, and Drew was going to win the Chamber that never happened, and but, the only one was Shayna Baszler and Becky Lynch. That was actually decided a year ago probably, but certainly months ago. But everything is just makeshift. You know Bill Goldberg and Roman Reigns have had one confrontation and one quick thing and it's not like overdone and if anything, all these matches are coming way too soon. H/t Credit: Sportskeeda
