Former WWE Champion John Cena's father, John Cena Sr., recently spoke to SportsKeeda Wrestling on the latest edition of UnSKripted. He talked about his son's iconic rivalry with Edge in 2006, and how he played a part in it as well.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Speaking about the infamous segment where Edge slapped him, he said that the moment was not choreographed or pre-planned. He admitted that Vince McMahon did not like it at all:

''Vince McMahon thought that was the worst thing in the world. However, do you notice how much mileage they got out of that slap? ‘Cena’s down! Cena’s down! Cena’s down!’

Though it may seem like an unplanned slap to the face might have hurt John Cena Sr., he really enjoyed being part of the WWE segment:

''I had a lot of fun doing it, but yeah, that’s something that wasn’t choreographed, I’ll tell you that. It was that, ‘You’re gonna slap me in the face.’ And I can tell you this, when he turned around and slapped me in the face, no choreography there, man, I took it.”

Edge cemented himself as one of the best heels in WWE at the time. With the change in his persona over the past few weeks, it looks like The Rater R Superstar is moving in that same direction once again.
