WWE debuted a new concept this week on RAW called 'RAW Underground'. The segment saw WWE Superstars like Dolph Ziggler and newcomer Dabba-Kato face against unknown competitors in a shoot-style fight in a ring with no ropes.
The Underground set was inspired by The Fight Club movie and saw a more violent and MMA style approach to the fights. The segment was hosted by a returning Shane McMahon.

As per Fightful Select, there were other names considered for the role before WWE finalized Shane O'Mac. The report also suggested that more segments for the RAW Underground were taped indicating that this experiment is here to stay for the time being.

Comparisons have been drawn between RAW Underground and GCW as the fights that took place were not at all conventional in their approach. It is interesting to see WWE trying something new and unique in order to boost the ratings.
