Kofi Kingston finally won the WWE Championship for the first time ever at WrestleMania 35 by defeating Daniel Bryan at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Interestingly, it was Bryan himself who was crucial in Kingston getting this opportunity in the first place.
The SmackDown Tag Team Champion revealed on After the Bell that WWE's original plan was to have Daniel Bryan face off Kevin Owens at the show, but given the popularity of LofiMania at the time, Daniel Bryan requested a match against Kingston.

I haven’t said this on any interviews before, but he [Bryan] pushed for that to happen, because the plans weren’t for me to be at WrestleMania. I’m not sure who it was for Daniel to face, but it wasn’t me. Daniel went in and went to bat for me and for the situation, for the title match between us to happen, so he had a big part in it too.”
