The heart of the matter
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer discussed the possibility of John Cena replacing Baron Corbin at WrestleMania. The former acting RAW GM is set to face Kurt Angle in the final match of his career, a match that has not gone down well with fans.
Meltzer said that although there was some kind of plan for Cena at one point. However, he added that as of earlier this week, Cena was not going to be Kurt Angle's WrestleMania opponent:
"There’s been a lot of speculation he will replace Corbin against Angle, spurred on by the chants for Cena at TVs. Cena was figured into something different, but at this point with almost no time left, his name hasn’t even been mentioned. There is the book-end idea of Cena having had his first WWE television match with Angle and Angle having his last match with Cena, but as of 3/25 that was not the plan."
What's next?
John Cena is free to appear at WrestleMania after the shoot for his latest film "Playing With Fire" wrapped up. We don't yet know what plans WWE has for Cena but speculation suggests that he will definitely be there in some capacity.
