What’s the story?
According to the Wrestling Observer, fans might not have to wait much longer to see Brock Lesnar return as he is expected to make more appearances during his Universal Championship run.
In case you didn’t know...
Despite only being introduced last year, the WWE Universal title has changed hands four times, Finn Bàlor was the first champion, followed by Kevin Owens who was defeated by Goldberg for the same and finally the current champion Brock Lesnar.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Many wrestlers are interested in challenging for the title, including former champion Finn Bàlor, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman.
The heart of the matter
Brock Lesnar has been absent from the last four episodes of Monday Night RAW and wasn’t even present for the red brand’s exclusive PPV Payback. As he is a part-timer scheduled to appear for a limited number of dates, many concluded that it would be a while before the Conqueror defends his title.
However, on the contrary, rumour has it that the WWE expects Lesnar to defend his title in the coming future. Furthermore, the Observer has reported that the Beast is expected to be around more, during his run as Champion, so this could mean that we might see Lesnar on upcoming episodes of Raw.
The Observer has also noted that Lesnar has only been booked for Great Balls Of Fire and Summerslam PPVs.
What’s next?
Fans can hope to see the ‘Beast’ make some appearances in the build up to the upcoming PPVs, however, it is unlikely that a special attraction like Lesnar will actually wrestle on anything other that PPVs.
Author’s take
It’s great to hear the Universal Championship and its holder might return to Raw. However, its unlikely that we’ll get to see the Beast in action until a PPV and that is the issue with having a part-timer holding the title.
