WWE Rumours: Champion vs Champion match taking place next month

Universal Champion Kevin Owens may face one of his  tough challenge yet

Now that Kevin Owens has defeated Seth Rollins in two consecutive Pay-Per-Views, he is very likely to move on to a new feud. On Raw Talk after Hell In A Cell, Roman Reigns said that he was ready to go after Universal Champion, Kevin Owens.

With the feud being teased, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer News Letter said that the “Champion vs. Champion” match between, Universal Champion, Kevin Owens and United States Champion, Roman Reigns, is scheduled to take place next month.

It is very likely that the match between the two champions may take place at Roadblock on December 18th, which is the final PPV of the year, and it also happens to be Raw exclusive. It takes place exactly two weeks after TLC, which is a Smackdown Live exclusive PPV.

The feud between Owens and Reigns was teased this past Monday, when Reigns defended the United States Championship, against Chris Jericho. The show generally revolved around the three, with Owens getting his best friend Chris Jericho disqualified after Reigns was about to pick up the victory.

There were rumours that the Kevin Owens-Chris Jericho breakup angle, would happen after Survivor Series and that it would lead to a match between the two at Roadblock. However, that angle may be pushed a little further.

It must be noted, that it is not clear whether both championships will be on the line or not. It is very likely that The Universal Championship will be on the line. It is also unlikely that Reigns will win the Universal Championship just yet.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated a couple of months ago that Reigns would be back in the main event picture by Royal Rumble at maximum, but it looks like that has come earlier.

Here is the main event from this past Monday Night Raw:
