What's the story?
Former NXT Tag Team Champions and current Monday Night Raw Superstars, The Revival, have allegedly requested their release from WWE with BodySlam.Net reporting it. Whereas Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that he'd heard WWE were concerned that Revival were looking to leave.
In case you didn't know...
The Revival, consisting of Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson are one of the more popular tag-teams to come out of NXT, but many feel they have failed to be given the same level of importance on the main roster by the WWE.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
They stirred up some controversy recently when 'The Elite' referenced them in 'Being the Elite' and then people started fantasy booking The Revival Vs. The Young Bucks. Something that both teams played into.
The heart of the matter
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that a situation had taken place following Monday Night Raw and that people backstage were now fearful that Dash and Dawson were done with WWE but stopped short of saying they'd requested their release.
Fightful.com learned today that several within WWE were fearful that Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder were finishing up with the company. I'm careful to make sure not to say they outright asked for their releases, as I wasn't told explicitly that's what happened. Instead, I was told "has reason to be very fearful that The Revival are done or finishing up with the company" after a situation unfolded at WWE Raw.
BodySlam.Net then followed up with their own sources after seeing Sean Ross Sapp reference the Revival leaving WWE and tweeted the following,
Now before you go questioning the legitimacy of these claims I'll just add that, for what it's worth, some of the sources I talk to have confirmed it and there's a small piece of extraneous evidence that suggests Dash and Dawson are preparing for life outside of the WWE. Like this trademark request for #FTR
Daniel Wheeler is Dash Wilder's real name and he has put in a trademark request for '#FTR' something we've seen The Revival recently wearing on their trunks on WWE television. It's interesting because the trademark is in Wheeler's name and NOT WWE's.
What's next?
The news of The Revival's request to leave WWE came around the same time as Mike and Maria Kanellis'. However, if the circumstances surrounding the Kanellis' are to be believed it would seem the WWE isn't granting any releases soon, so if the Revival did ask to leave, expect them to be sitting out their contract from the sidelines.
