The heart of the matter
Dave Meltzer and Jim Ross discussed Angle’s new role as General Manager of Monday Night Raw on the latest edition of The Ross Report, in which they reviewed WrestleMania 33. Meltzer then said that although he enjoys seeing Angle healthy and happy on WWE television, he hoped the WWE doesn’t over-use him inside of the ring due to his history of injuries. Ross responded by saying that he doesn’t believe the WWE will make that mistake with Angle and that this role as General Manager can allow a one-year build-up for one last match at WrestleMania, and Meltzer believes that it’ll be against ‘The Game.’
What’s next?
Kurt Angle will be in charge of Monday Night Raw while Triple H won’t be on television for some time. However, when the Game does return, there is every opportunity that he will set up a feud with Raw’s incumbent General Manager.
Author’s take:
During the Attitude Era, Angle and Hunter’s feuds were legendary, as they put on some great matches during their love triangle storyline with Stephanie McMahon. The two veterans have incredible chemistry inside the ring and can tell quite a story.
With all the history between them, it’s only fitting that Kurt Angle has his last professional wrestling match with Triple H.
