If reports are true, Roman Reigns might not be the only one spearing guys in the WWE. Wrestling Observer reports that the former WWE Heavyweight Champion and the company are very interested in finalising a deal for one, big match.
While the 49-year-old’s relationship with the WWE is far from ideal, both sides could sit across from each other in the not-too-distant future. There was buzz around the WrestleMania period Goldberg was approached to make an appearance at the mega event.
Though he hasn’t wrestled in a WWE ring for more than a decade (his last match was the painful-to-watch throwdown with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 20 with Stone Cold as special guest referee), Goldberg will feature in the new WWE 2K17 video game, available from October 25th. Is that a breadcrumb? Time will tell.
After his ‘retirement’ from wrestling in 2004, Goldberg appeared as a commentator for various MMA promotions including World Fighting Alliance, EliteXC and Dynamite K-1. The former professional football player even expressed a great desire to compete, but conceded that it’s a young man's game.
Goldberg returned to pro-wrestling in June last year, rescuing Rob Van Dam from a beatdown by Scott Steiner and Luke Gallows and spearing both to cap it off. In January this year, he picked up where he left off by spearing Scott Steiner at a local event.
