What's the story?
WWE confirmed earlier today that RAW Superstar, Dean Ambrose, will be leaving the company in April.
Now, we have some interesting backstage details about Ambrose's departure from WWE.
In case you didn't know...
Dean Ambrose signed with WWE in 2011, wrestling in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) and NXT, before making the jump to the main roster as part of The Shield, alongside Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

At the 2019 Royal Rumble, Ambrose was the #14 entrant and lasted 12 minutes before being eliminated by Aleister Black. On this past week's RAW, Ambrose confronted Seth Rollins, and then had a singles match with the 2019 Royal Rumble winner. Ambrose lost the match and following the match, sat in the ring and was about to announce something before being cut off by Nia Jax.
The heart of the matter
PWInsider have reported that WWE offered Ambrose a five-year contract worth more than a $1 million a year, but Ambrose has turned it down. Not many people knew of Ambrose's decision to quit WWE, and only came to know about it after RAW.

The match against Rollins on RAW was the end of the rivalry but the two could still face off against each other on house matches on the road.
“We are told that Ambrose met with different members of WWE management over the last couple of days and made it clear by the time he had finished with his final meeting at Monday Night Raw yesterday that he was not intending on signing a new deal and was looking to leave," reported Mike Johnson of PWInsider.
What's next?
We aren't quite sure if this is a work or if Dean Ambrose is legitimately quitting WWE later this year. One thing is for sure - the WWE Universe will miss The Lunatic Fringe on WWE television.
