What’s the story?
As reported by Cageside Seats, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan may well face off against each other at WWE Backlash. The card, which features Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship, features just five matches so far with more expected to be confirmed before next Sunday.
In case you didn’t know...
Harper and Rowan have had a long history together, dating back to when they were first put together alongside Bray Wyatt. The Wyatt Family dominated in NXT, however, they weren’t able to replicate that success on the main roster, with Rowan and Harper failing to win the WWE Tag Team Championships on several occasions.

The heart of the matter
The report suggests that there’s a good chance the match between the two former brothers will be added to show, but it’s yet to be confirmed as to whether or not it’ll be on the kickoff event.
Given the fact that there’s not really too much build behind it that would make sense, with Erick Rowan being the expected winner for many after the push he’s been getting as of late.
What’s next?
With just over a week remaining until the pay-per-view, there isn’t a lot of time left for this match to get the green light, but given its lack of importance, they could just announce it on the day.
It seems as if the company are eager to push Rowan despite Bray heading over to Monday Night Raw, meaning that a chase for the United States Championship could be on the cards in the near future.
Author’s Take
We aren’t surprised to see this being made for the event, as it’s classic WWE booking. This could be a potentially great feud but they’re wasting it by just thrusting them into a match, less than two weeks after they fought each other on SmackDown Live where Rowan came out victorious.
