According to reports from multiple sites, NXT women’s star Dana Brooke will be backstage for tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW.
Dana Brooke has been out of in-ring action since NXT Takeover: Respect in October, when she lost to Asuka, now the NXT Women’s Champion. Since, she has been said to be recovering from injury. Tonight’s RAW is being broadcast from the Century Link Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
There is, of course, no guarantee that her presence means anything when it comes to future plans or even tonight’s action. She could be there merely for the experience of being backstage at a show, since she has no NXT commitments at this time. She could also be working a dark match of some sort.
Dana Brooke debuting on the main roster is always a possibility this time of year, but the timing would be odd. Women’s Champion Charlotte is in the midst of a feud with Natalya, and Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks both seem to be waiting in the wings for a shot at that belt, as are performers like Emma and Paige. On top of that, most fans expect Bayley could make her main-roster debut in the coming weeks or months.
To throw Dana Brooke into that mix would crowd the card somewhat at a time when the NXT women’s ranks are as shallow as they’ve been in some time. For those reasons, it seems unlikely that her presence for RAW means much, but the reports are trickling out nonetheless.
