WWE Rumors: Possible reason why Alexa Bliss didn't compete on SmackDown Live this week

What's the story?

Alexa Bliss is struggling with sickness at present, which could be why she wasn't on hand on SmackDown Live and was defeated so easily as part of Monday Night Raw.

In case you didn't know...

Alexa Bliss hasn't had the best of luck with her health over the past few months, ever since Hell in a Cell last year the former Women's Champion has been struck down with a number of injuries that have kept her out of the ring.

Luckily, Bliss has been able to find a way to remain on WWE TV despite her injuries since she has been handed her own "A Moment of Bliss" talk show in recent months. The Goddess has returned to the ring recently and now looks to become SmackDown Women's Champion next weekend, but this new bout of sickness could be a problem.

The heart of the matter

Alexa Bliss was part of a short match on Monday Night Raw this week before Nikki Cross was handed the chance to host "A Moment of Bliss" on SmackDown Live since Alexa couldn't be there herself.

The possible reason for this could be because Bliss was struggling with sickness earlier this week, something that she Tweeted about yesterday after five days of being sidelined with the illness.

What's next?

Alexa Bliss challenges Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Championship at Extreme Rules next weekend, so it will be interesting to see if the former Champion will be fit and able to take up this Championship opportunity or if Nikki Cross is given another chance to fill her shoes when she's unable to compete.

Everyone here at Sportskeeda wishes Alexa Bliss a speedy recovery and hopefully, she's back on Monday Night Raw.
