WWE Rumors: Roman Reigns' surprising WrestleMania 35 opponent potentially revealed

With Roman Reigns returning far sooner than expected, fans were surprised that he will also be getting back in the ring a lot sooner too. With that in mind, the question is to what Roman Reigns' plans are for WrestleMania 35 and who he'll be facing.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Reigns' potential opponent might come as quite a surprise to fans.

In case you didn't know...

Roman Reigns has main evented the last four WrestleMania's consecutively. It is a feat that neither The Rock, John Cena or even 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin had achieved. However, this year, the streak is set to end, with the RAW Women's Championship match expected to main event WrestleMania 35.

Seth Rollins, Reigns' brother in arms, will be taking on Reigns' old foe Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. It'll mark the first time in four years that Reigns isn't in a marquee WrestleMania match.

Seth Rollins asked Roman Reigns on RAW how he felt about him going after the Universal title, and Reigns gave Rollins his full blessing.

The heart of the matter

When asked by Bryan Alvarez and a fan on their fan mail, Dave Meltzer said that the plan as of now seems to be Roman Reigns vs Baron Corbin at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Moreover, they're also set to face each other on live events after WrestleMania, so this could be one of the indicators

Naturally, that might come as both a surprise and disappointment, as Reigns has faced WWE legends for the past four WrestleMania's. It seems like a step down in the quality of opponent, but either way, we can't really blame WWE because they may not have been sure when Reigns was coming back.

The reality is that they would have planned WrestleMania discounting him from the card, but since he'll be back, he might have a quick squash match.
