According to CageSide Seats, The New Day’s tremendous run in WWE as Tag Team Champions may soon come to an end at the hands of Sheamus and Cesaro at Roadblock: End of the Line, this Sunday.
The New Day has had a record-breaking run with WWE Tag Team Championship for more than a year. Last Monday on Raw they surpassed the old record held by the legendary tag team Demolition. They defended their titles in two triple threat matches and won both to retain the championship and break Demolition’s record this week.
It is rumoured that the only reason New Day retained the titles, was for them to break the record. And if rumours are to be believed, The New Day may soon lose their titles now that the record has been broken. And surprisingly enough, Gallows and Anderson will not be the duo to take the belt of The New Day’s shoulders.
The report from CageSide Seats states that Sheamus and Cesaro will likely defeat The New Day this Sunday at Roadblock – End of the Line and become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
Sheamus and Cesaro were forced to team up on the orders of Mick Foley, after their long and brutal Best of Seven series ended in a draw. Though the pair detested each other in the beginning and engaged in one-upmanship, they soon bonded over a bar fight and are now on the same page.
WWE fans will surely welcome this long deserved push for Cesaro, who has been hot in the recent times. The duo is likely to hold on to the tag titles for a while before they drop them to some other team.
