The go-home episode of SmackDown before Survivor Series ended with Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Road Dogg arriving on a military jeep to lead NXT’s latest invasion ahead of Sunday’s battle of brand supremacy.

NXT Superstars then began to attack members of the RAW and SmackDown rosters, while Braun Strowman and Keith Lee had a staredown in the final minute of the broadcast, leading to the start of a brawl between the two men as the show went off the air.

Writing on Fightful Select, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that the episode was originally due to come to an end after Mustafa Ali’s Spanish Fly on Lio Rush from the top rope to the outside of the ring, but WWE had to release the footage on social media after the show due to timing issues.

“Saturday afternoon, Fightful Select was able to confirm with several people involved in the segment that SmackDown was originally supposed to go off the air with the Spanish Fly dive between Ali and Lio Rush. However, due to some issues with timing and cues, the plan went awry.”
