At the recently concluded NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Britt Baker was shown on screen as Adam Cole was put through a table from the top of the cage by Tommaso Ciampa. The camera cut to Baker, who was reasonably shocked.
While Triple H said this was an accident, people within AEW were not buying the explanation. According to Fightful Select, after speaking with multiple people, it's now been said that the events played out as Triple H said and the director used on that night was someone who hadn't worked in the previous TakeOver shows.
Triple H spoke with Sean Ross Sapp after the event and insisted that it was an accident, and the director was just looking for the most shocking looking person when the Ciampa-Cole spot happened. He further said,
"I swear this, the director that took the shot didn't know who it was, he just went to the woman in the crowd who had the most concerned crazy look on her face and he took the shot, somebody next to him told him I'm sure told him and he got off the shot. I don't have a problem with it in any way, shape or form and then to not address it, then it's the elephant in the room that you don't address."
He did say that he didn't want to put Baker in that spot as he didn't want her to get heat and said,
"Look, I'm happy for her. She's got a good thing going on. She's killing it, she's doing a great job and that's awesome and I certainly would never want that to interfere with what she does."
Fightful has now been told that the director was indeed new and didn't know who Baker was when they cut to her. It was Triple H who rushed to get her off screen. At the moment, it seems Triple H was on point, when he explained the moment to Fightful.
