Since its metamorphosis from a stifling warehouse entitled Florida Championship Wrestling to its current avatar, NXT has become an accomplished brand in its own right. Having shed the tag of being the WWE’s developmental league, NXT has an impressive following despite being a throwback to the regional promotion that the WWE was in its infancy.
The uber-talented performers, quality matches and prominence of women wrestlers, coupled with the upside of being a scaled-down outift have led many to at times, rate it above the WWE main roster.
NXT has its own showcase events titled TakeOvers, the latest of which will be held on June 8th. The card is muscly, with Finn Balor attempting to reclaim his championship belt from Samoa Joe in the promotion's first-ever steel cage match, Women's Champion Asuka pitting her craft against Nia Jax's power and international Shinsuke Nakamura facing veteran Austin Aries.
