WWE Rumors: Veteran journalist gives his take on the WWE/Mauro Ranallo situation

Mauro Ranallo hasn’t directly accused JBL of bullying him but instead has praised most of his co-workers back in the WWE.

What’s the story?

According to veteran pro-wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the professional wrestling community must let the whole situation between the WWE and Mauro Ranallo play out before levying accusations on WWE, Ranallo or the alleged bully in question, John Bradshaw Layfield.

In case you didn’t know...

JBL and several WWE higher-ups have been accused of bullying Mauro Ranallo.

The 47-year old Canadian sports broadcaster and play-by-play commentator, who started his stint with the WWE’s blue brand back in 2015, hasn't been on WWE programming since March of this year.

According to several personalities from the world of professional wrestling, JBL’s bullying is the main reason behind’s Ranallo’s departure from WWE. However, Layfield has denied all of these allegations.

The heart of the matter

Meltzer alluded to the fact that the pro-wrestling fans and media must refrain from jumping to conclusions on the ongoing WWE-Ranallo controversy and instead simply let this situation play out over the next few days.

As reported previously, Ranallo and a WWE official have confirmed his upcoming departure from the company, noting that although his WWE contract is valid until August of this year, he won’t be working the commentary booth for the company in the days to come.

What’s next?

Ranallo’s WWE contract runs out on August 12th and fans can expect to catch the eccentric commentator at various entertainment events in the days to come.

Author’s take

We ought to note that none of the aforementioned bullying claims against JBL have been proven, as of yet.

Despite allegations from several former WWE employees with the most prominent among them being ex-WWE ring announcer Justin Roberts, the WWE seem to be relatively mum about the whole situation. The next few weeks promise to answer a lot of questions surrounding this fiasco, and Sportskeeda will keep you updated as and when more details are revealed.
