What’s the story?
Status of The Undertaker with WWE is still unknown and rumors about his future with the company are going about. Some believe that he has retired while others suggest that he has just taken some time off.
In case you didn’t know…
The Undertaker removed all mentions of WWE from his social media accounts earlier this month and things have not been the same ever since. He has been making appearances outside the WWE, for a whopping $25,000 per hour.
The Phenom hasn't been on WWE TV for some time. His last appearance was at the Crown Jewel in late November in a tag-team match with his 'brother', Kane against Shawn Michaels and Triple H.
The heart of the matter
It was confirmed last week that The Undertaker was set to appear at Starrcast in Las Vegas this May and that has not gone down well with Vince McMahon. The convention is in association with AEW Double or Nothing and thus, have sparked rumors of the Phenom moving to AEW as well.
He also teased at an 'important meeting' last week and that too was rumored to be a meeting with AEW.
Dave Meltzer noted this on Wrestling Observer Radio and said, “A whole bunch of things have happened in the last week. And one of them is whole Undertaker–Vince dynamic. It had Vince off and because you know there was definite unhappiness about him doing the Starrcast thing and you know why. So there’s that.”
What’s next?
WWE still do not have a plan in place for Undertaker's appearance at WrestleMania this year. Looking at the card right now, the creative team have just one opening – get him to fight Kurt Angle in his final match before retirement.
