WWE Rumors: WrestleMania 35 set to break massive record

What's the story?

WrestleMania is among the 10 most valuable live event entertainment extravaganza shows, with each year seeing an increase in revenue and the brand name. According to F4WOnline, WrestleMania 35 is not only set to shatter the revenue record from the last show at MetLife Stadium in 2013, but it's set to shatter an all-time revenue record for WWE.

In case you didn't know...

WrestleMania is in its 35th edition, with each year seeing the Showcase of the Immortals growing in popularity. While years ago, WWE needed major stars to draw crowds of 60,000+ people, times have changed, and the name "WrestleMania" alone has become a brand name that attracts people from across the globe, sponsorships, and has cities bidding to host the event each year.

Since it brings tens of thousands of spending fans to the host city, the host area sees a major boost in economic impact, as the travelling fans tend to spend on things like hotels, food, alcohol, leisure activities and more.

This is why it has become such a big deal, and it's also why cities bid to host WrestleMania. Next year, WrestleMania will go to Tampa, Florida.

The heart of the matter

With the increased ticket price and sales, F4WOnline reports that WrestleMania 35 is set to be the first live show in WWE history to reach a whopping $20 million in revenue. You read that right. Even WrestleMania 29, which was also at MetLife Stadium, drew around $12.3 million in revenue from nearly 69,000 paying fans (though WWE said that the attendance was 80,000).

The main event will see RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey take on SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair and The Man Becky Lynch in a "Winner Takes All" match. It's gotten a lot of fanfare, since it's set to be the first-ever Women's main event in WrestleMania history.

What's next?

WrestleMania 35 is just a few days away, and it's going to be interesting afterwards to see the numbers and economic impact that the event had on the New York/New Jersey region.
