According to Cageside Seats, the WWE have reached an agreement with Impact Wrestling over the rights to the ‘Broken’ gimmick. Rumours of the potential debut of ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy have been doing the rounds over the past few weeks.
The Background
The ‘Broken’ Hardy gimmick made its debut in Impact Wrestling in 2016. Hardy’s ‘Broken’ persona saw him bleach part of his hair blonde and obtain a strange British-like accent. Many people thought that the new gimmick wouldn’t work out for Matt and that he would forever remain in the shadow of his brother Jeff. However, the gimmick worked wonders for Matt Hardy and many fans have grown to love his ‘Broken’ persona.

The heart of the matter
Matt Hardy never really made a huge impact in WWE and was always hidden in the shadow of his brother, Jeff. However, with the introduction of his ‘Broken’ persona, Matt has propelled himself onto into a new stratosphere.
Ever since the Hardy Boyz returned at WrestleMania, the WWE has been in negotiations with Impact Wrestling over ownership of the gimmick. Impact Wrestling have tried their best to be defiant and prevent the WWE from obtaining the rights to the gimmick, but if rumours are to be believed, then Matt Hardy will soon be debuting his 'broken' side on the red brand.

The WWE Universe has good reason to believe that Matt Hardy will bring the 'Broken' man to RAW, but the biggest reason why fans are so excited about the prospect is because Hardy has been teasing them about the return of his gimmick for the past few weeks.

If the rumours are true and the WWE have officially obtained the rights the rights to the ‘Broken’gimmick, then the fans are in for a treat.
